Boating in Bella Vista

Lake Use Fee Page
Boat Usage Fee

All applicable state and federal fishing and boating regulations apply to Bella Vista lakes. Arkansas law requires all vessels propelled by sail or machinery of any type to be registered. In addition, boats on Bella Vista lakes must have current state and POA boat registration permits. Regular POA permits are available at the POA’s Membership Services Department, 101 Town Center. Meanwhile, temporary permits are available at the POA’s Membership Services Department, Riordan Hall and the Loch Lomond Marina.

A current POA-issued Photo ID is required before buying boat stickers. Boat registration may be obtained by presenting a state registration certificate. Boat owners will be provided a copy of Arkansas regulations. Registration fees will be discounted upon receipt of certification from an approved boating safety class. All boats must be re-registered by March 31 each year or be subject to a late fee.

A current state and POA boat registration is required before using any boats on the POA’s lakes. Members wanting to use their boat must have a current POA-issued photo identification card and current annual POA boat registration
(permit). Guests must have a current guest card and a temporary boat permit, in order to use their boat on any of the lakes.

NOTE: The use of any personal watercraft, houseboats and float planes is prohibited on all Bella Vista lakes. A recommended speed limit of 35 mph applies to Loch Lomond and lakes Ann and Windsor. Lakes Avalon, Brittany, Norwood and Rayburn are “no wake” lakes. For more information about the POA’s lakes, call the Lakes and Parks Department at (479) 855-5067 or (479) 855-5060.

Boat registration renewals are due each year by Dec. 31, but a grace period is granted until March 31. Renewals of boat registration after March 31 are subject to a $58-late fee each time the boat is used on Bella Vista’s lakes. There is no proration for renewal of boat registrations. First-time boat registrations are prorated by the quarter-year.
