Bella Vista Village's
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers play an important role in the success
of Bella Vista Village’s special events and activities.
Volunteer duties include a wide variety of fun activities and
rewarding projects. Volunteering in Bella Vista Village does not
require labor intensive or time consuming work. Below is a
current list of available volunteer opportunities. For more
information about volunteerism in Bella Vista Village, contact
the Property Owners Association’s Community Outreach Manager
Sylvia Camacho-Green at
SylviaCG@BellaVistaPOA.com or (479) 855-5019.
Submit a
Volunteer Application.
Activities Volunteer
The activities volunteer is typically a person
who enjoys entertaining, and interacting with others. This
creative individual, has strong communication skills, and, in some cases, a
special talent to be utilized for an event.
This volunteer will work closely with the event committee
members and may be a part of planning a project/event.
Ambassador-Greeter Volunteer
This volunteer is someone who is energized
and enjoys working with the general public. If you sign up as a greeter you will
be contacted to determine your interest and availability
for that particular event
Clerical Volunteer
From time to time there are special projects
that require clerical/administrative skills and utilization of
the Internet.
Skills needed include writing and the ability to make telephone
calls. The volunteer will assist the community outreach manager
with tasks and offer other creative skills throughout particular
events.
Craft Volunteer
During many POA events, there is a need for
volunteers interested in hosting a craft workshop or
contributing their craft skills for an activity at an event.
We welcome you to submit your name and craft skills, so that
when an opportunity is available you can be contacted. This is
particularly popular during the holiday season or peak times of
our events.
Event Committee Member Volunteer
This individual attends meetings to plan the details for
executing specific events.
Meetings can vary from weekly to monthly until the final date of
the event.
Skills for this committee member include the ability to adapt to
a team of volunteers, rules and regulations, creative skills and
a knowledge of POA venues.
Promotional personalities are always welcome.
Meetings are usually during the day and events are usually on
the weekends.
Information Volunteer
This volunteer communicates with the community
outreach manager to learn the details of a project or event and
become aware of any necessary changes. This individual is available to answer questions for
those
attending. The ability to work closely with the community outreach manager
is important.
Photographer Volunteer
During our events, it is a pleasure to have more than one
photographer available, whether it is utilizing the POA’s camera
or your own camera.
This volunteer would stay informed as to the event dates and
times and be available the day of the event to take photos.
Promotional Volunteer
Promotional volunteers circulate flyers in the
village to areas that are visited by the general public and also
deliver posters for display. The community outreach manager will
provide a list of traditional locations where posters are left
for viewing.
The volunteer will also pick up the posters from the site at the
conclusion of the event.
A promotional volunteer has all the details of the event and is
available to share that information with others.
Each event will have its own poster at the time of the event.
Placing signage in the ground for events and picking up the
signage at the close of the event may also be a part of the
duties.
Set Up Volunteer
Volunteers will set up tables, tents, decorate and install
directional signs in designated areas.
At the close of the event, all of the above would be dismantled.
There may be some lifting and arranging of items.
Events will be indoors and outdoors.
Outdoor events are usually in the spring, with the exception of
the annual Festival of Trees celebration.
Sparkles Program (Litter Volunteer)
Bella Vista residents take pride in keeping the community
clean.
The Sparkles Program enables residents to adopt a city road, or
subdivision(s), as a group or individually.
The Sparkles Program is coordinated with bimonthly litter pick
ups from March through November.
The POA provides litter pickers, trash bags and vests for all
volunteers.
Please visit the Community Outreach tab on the POA’s Web site or
contact Community Outreach Manager Sylvia Camacho-Green at
SylviaCG@BellaVistaPOA.com.
Sports Volunteer
If you enjoy kayaking, canoeing, boating, driving a golf
cart or shuttling individuals to and from parking lots, this one
is for you.
All that is needed is your contact information, so that when a
special event is planned, you can be contacted as to your
availability.
Normally, these are one-time events; therefore, volunteers will
not be required to attending meetings.
Traffic, Parking, Security Volunteer
This volunteer directs traffic and parking and monitors
areas, as necessary, for the security of our guests.
Requirements for this volunteer are to be able to stand for a
minimum of one hour on a rotating basis with other volunteers
and be able to work outdoors in cold or hot temperatures.
This volunteer would also need to work with the planning
committee members to have a good understanding of the flow and
hours of the event. Typically, this volunteer would need to be
available on the weekend.
